Christian Trella
I have been working with animals since I was 10 years old. I've worked with and trained many different kinds including: fish, cats, pigs, goats, chickens, birds, and dogs. But I found my passion with dogs and helping owners to build the best relationship possible with their pets.
I have over 15 years experience training dogs and continuously work on learning cutting edge techniques in the field. My extensive experience includes work in zoos, shelters, nature museums and even Sea World.
I have a BS in Animal Behavior, Ecology and Conservation from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. I'm also CCPDT (Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers) certified. I am a member IAABC, AKC and I'm a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
Most recently I was the Manager of Behavior and Training at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. I spent many hours developing individual training plans for the dogs that came into the shelter, helping them get past their traumatic experiences so they could go home with their new families. I also designed and led group training programs for families in the area with new puppies as well as families who adopted dogs from the shelter. I helped several dogs who came in from animal cruelty situations learn to trust humans again and rehabilitate them to be loving, wonderful family pets.
Over the 15 plus years I have been working with animals, I've helped many families overcome obstacles with their dog's behavior and grow strong bonds between them and their humans.
In the interest of continually working toward learning new techniques, I'm also currently working on getting my Behavior Consultant Certification.
